Planning meeting

Postby sumpnfishy » Wed Dec 27, 2017 2:48 am

This really should have happened already but...we need to have a planning meeting for 2018.
For those interested, would you rather meet before the regular meeting or have a stand alone meeting?

Probably best to incorporate it into the meeting

So what's the meeting program for January? That might make a difference as to whether we could have it during the regular meeting.

No. She said it wasn’t in her calendar anywhere and Yahoo purged my old emails so I don’t even have the correspondence.

Have we posted a meeting program schedule for the rest of the year? If not, we should. Denny

We really need to have the posters up for Greg's talk in April, and a schedule of what we're doing for the rest of the year??? If we have our auction in October, I'm assuming we'll have it the 3rd Saturday again so we don't conflict with HAAS. Do we know what Greg is talking about in April? Denny

Thanks Corey. Greg may not be talking to me when he comes. I was tweaking some members of HCCC today about being a little zealous about not liking hybrids. I don't think they took it well.

Do we have a list of monthly meeting topics and speakers that I missed? We really need to get that posted somewhere conspicuous.

I can see where Greg would have strong feelings about that. Those who hybridize indiscriminately have made it hard with a lot of Victorians because some of them are already really dang hard to tell apart.

Actually my post was aimed more at the put down of line breeding. In either case, I think it's more of a question of personal preference that having no morals or integritty.

Since we are looking for a program for May with the cancellation of our planned speaker, do we have a collecting trip planned sometime during the year? I wouldn't mind a collecting trip somewhere close in Arkansas that has fish, but also a place where we could collect driftwood. Just a thought.

Oklahoma is doing a collecting trip in the Tahlequah area that day. What if we join them?

Probably a little far for me (80 plus miles). Also I'd prefer Arkansas. Sounds like it might be a good place though. We'll have out of town company the 12th, so for me, I'd need to be closer so it wasn't an all day trip.

That would leave the Buffalo out as well for distance. There’s a place on the south side of Fayetteville that might be good to try. We could always do the creek in Bella Vista or War Eagle.
