Collecting Facts

Fact #1: It is still too cold to even stick your head under water with a snorkel.
Fact #2: Cardinal Shiners in breeding colors rival ANY fish found in aquariums.
Fact #3: Fact #1 wasn't really all that important after all!!

Nah! My cardinal tetras kick your cardinal shiners' caudal peduncles! (Try saying that five times really fast!)

Does this mean you went collecting somewhere today?

Yes, I dropped Johnathon off at school and decided to go up the road and collect in a creek by Wagon Wheel Road. I didn't catch a single darter there though I did see a few. The gaping hole in my net probably didn't help but I should have caught at least some. I was wading along a deeper part when I saw all the red in the water so I had to go back to the car and get my mask and snorkel.
All I really caught were some small shiners and really cute baby sculpins.
