Pearl gourami

Post by sskruzr »

Well it qas a good say in the fish eoom this morning. This past weekend I set up a 40g to try n breed some pearl gourami , should have used a 20. Put the female in Sunday night and the male Monday night. Well he built the bubbkenest within a airline tube ring I put in amongst the duckweed. I knew last night they had spawned cause she was thinner. This morning I saw a lot of dark specs in and around the ring. They'd wiggle abit so I removed dad. Hopefully I have some for October auction, hopefully I can find small enough food.

I remember breeding zebra danios and they were small. These are about the same. A few were swimming around this morning, hopefully the rest are free-swimming tomorrow. Now's when I wish I would have used a 20.

Well as usual, the first attempt at breeding an egg layer, getting survivors can be tough. While the spawning was hugely successful, some 500+ probably. There's about 12 or so left. Guess I will try again at a later date.
