Mouthbrooders holding eggs

Post by dennysfishroom »

In the last several days I've pulled around 6 Peacock females holding eggs, and put them in a maternity tank. The one this afternoon was probably the hardest though. I've had a super red "Dragon's Blood" male that I've had in a 90 gallon aquarium with about 50 female Blue Pearls. It's been quite awhile with no babies. Yesterday I thought I was seeing one of the females with a mouthful, so today I decided to see if I could catch her. For those of you who have tried to catch fish in big tanks, you know how difficult that can be to catch any fish. When all the fish look exactly the same, and you want to catch a particular fish, it's noticeably worse. I'll find out in the next few weeks whether I succeded (if I see fry). I certainly hope so. The male is really good looking. Denny
If it was easy, anyone could do it!
