Reef Life Magazine Ceases Publication

Reef Life, a magazine for marine reef aquarists has sent notice that it will cease publication with its next issue, blaming hard economic times. EcoSystem Aquarium, the publisher, previously published Coral magazine, an English version of the German Korallen. About a year ago, they decided stop translating Coral and strike out on their own with Reef Life.

It's a shame to see them go. Both magazines were well done, but I have to say that the company did make it hard to order the publications. There was no way to order over the Internet, only by phone or fax. And, one year, when my subscription lapsed because I had not received the single, postcard they send as notice for renewal, they made me pay the $10 per back-issue charge for the issue I had missed before I noticed, instead of sending the back issues to catch me up like the other aquarium mags do.

Sounds like "bad economic choices" rather than "hard economic times" to me.
