Brutal Platys

Brandon picked up a group of platys (1m/3f) before Christmas.
Within a few days one of the females was looking ragged. The other platys were attacking her. He moved the single female.
The other 3 fish then started to show signs of the shimmy. After a week or more of treatment Brandon tells me this morning that the 3 Platys are looking fine. That is good news. Unfortunately though the three platys have torn his bristlenose pleco apart. Overnight they have nearly removed the dorsal fine and removed half of the tail. She died a little after he sent this news to me. Yes, he did see them pick on her, but not until this morning. He moved her to another container, but too late.
So much for a peaceful community fish .
