The first time I saw a school of baby catfish like that was when I was a kid. It was kind of scary and made my heart jump because it was far enough away that all I could see was this amorphous black shape in the water that morphed into various shapes like some kind of black ghost. I had no idea what it was until the school moved closer and I could see it was a school of baby catfish.
