MASI Monthly Meeting - July 15th w/ Pat Tosie

The monthly meeting will be Thursday July 15th, 2010, at 7:30, at the
Dorsett Village Baptist Church, off McKelvey Rd., in Maryland Heights.
MASI is open to all a”fish”ionados, whether experienced or beginner,
fresh water or salt. This month’s program is: Pat Tosie’s Adventure’s in Collecting!
Pat maintains over 3500 gallons of freshwater in 130 aquariums,
predominantly containing cichlids and livebearers.
Pat's specialty is Dwarf (South American & West African) cichlids, Central
American cichlids, and livebearers, although he keeps just about any types
of fish. He is an active member in his aquarium clubs Breeders Award
Program, spawning over 230 species, the majority being cichlids.
He has been on 15 collecting trips out of the country in the countries of
Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Peru. He has also collected native
fish in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Florida, Missouri, and Texas. Pat has
given numerous talks to aquarium clubs around the country.
Pat is currently a member of the Missouri Aquarium Society, Inc.,
Apistogramma Study Group, American Livebearer Association, American Cichlid
Association (ACA), and St. Louis Water Gardeners Association. He has served
two terms on the ACA's board of Directors. Pat served and Show Chairman for
the 1988 ACA Convention, Convention Chairman for the 1998 ACA Convention,
served two terms as the Show Chairman for the Missouri Aquarium Society, and
he served as the Editor of The Darter, the publication of the Missouri
Aquarium Society, Inc. for 10 years.
There will be a raffle, attendance prizes and a bowl show - this month, it’s the livebearers!!!!
