MCA - Des Moines Sept 17-19th

We weren't able to attend the MCA in Des Moines (same show as what was held in KC last September) because of my HS 50th reunion in Waterloo. By coming home yesterday, we were able to stop in for part of the auction yesterday. Prices stayed pretty high (good for the sellers) for the first 2 hours, and they had some interesting fish. Unfortunately, nothing that grabbed me, but that happens sometimes. I was able to talk to quite a few people while I was there i.e. Ted Judy, the group from HAAS (total of 6?), a friend from EIAS. It looks like the economy has really put a hit on these regional (and even national) fish organizations. Attendance has been down which has really discouraged the local clubs putting the conventions on. Hopefully, it's not a sign of problems in the hobby. It does say that we really need to support these events if we want them to continue in the future. It's the only way we can have access to this caliber of speaker. Now we need to look forward to our own auction and really start getting excited about it. It looks like we may have some really cool fish. Denny
