Stupidity, and all my tanks have it!!

Post by ApistoGrandma »

Well I know that in this hobby you never stop learning but this morning I awoke to find that a fish trap i had made and put in a tank to catch fry, had instead, caught 3 of my 4 rope fish( Erpetoichthys calabaricus) and the poor buggers had all suffocated... In hind sight I realize how stupid it was to leave it in the tank unattended for more then 1 hour, let alone 4. I just wish the little guy hadn't had to go out that way. dumb dumb dumb. That being said I have one lonely rope fish now and as they are social fish i dont want her to be lonely. so if anyone has some ropefish in need of a new family member, let me know. alternatively if you have a lone rope your looking to move let me know aswell.

Our auction on Saturday, October 27th is a good chance to move lonely fish FYI. Denny
If it was easy, anyone could do it!

Sorry to hear about your losses. It is always hard when you do something that has a negative affect on your own fish. I recently rushed a tank move and killed a whole spawn of red severums using some water I should not have used. Just a dumb mistake but a high price was paid by the poor fish. I hope you either find another rope fish or find someone with a family he can join. Jack

I've made that mistake too. I keep an eye on any traps I use now.... Kyle
