NWAAS Club Picnic 2013
Saturday, June 22nd, 2013
4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Location: 806 Lakeview Dr., Rogers, AR
Rain or shine and bug-free! We've got a huge, screened porch.
It's time for our annual club picnic! (Sorry for the short notice.) All club and forum members are invited (and their families). The club will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, and basic amenities, such as plates, cups, silverware. Everyone should bring a side item or drinks to fill out the buffet.

We expect to have a fun time! There will be bocce ball and horseshoes for kids and adults, and there's a good chance that you will see deer raccoons, squirrels, and other wildlife.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP with a reply to this message, so that we can have an appropriate amount of hot dogs and hamburgers on hand.

April and I will be there. I was wondering if we could bring a few folks along. I figure the best way to expand membership is to show them what we do. If there is something we can bring let me know!

It might be helpful if you could post what you'll be bringing for the "potluck" part of the picnic. Thanks to all who have indicated you're coming. To those of you who haven't indicated that you'll be there yet, there will be plenty of food, so come anyway. Hope we see lots of you there. I don't remember if Mike posted directions to his house, but he probably will if he hasn't yet. Denny

Here's a link to a google map to the house. The controls to zoom in and out are on the left:
806 Lakeview Dr., Rogers, AR
The house is on the right-hand side of the street. It's a tan, brick house on the southwest corner of Lakeview and S. Lakeview Drives. The lower five feet of all the shrubs along the street are nearly naked due to browsing by the deer. If you see a "Pleco Press" sign on the front door, with a picture of a zebra pleco, you'll know you're in the right place.

Let's give a big thanks to Mike and Sharron for hosting the club picnic yesterday. Everyone had a good time, and we got to sit down with other members and get to know them in a more comfortable setting. For those of you who missed it, we hope you can make it to the next picnic or event the club sponsors. Thanks again. Denny

We had a great time hosting! Special thanks to Denny and Gram for becoming grillmasters and taking on the chef chores. The hot dogs and hamburgers were perfect! (And thanks to Denny for taking on the task of procuring them.) And huge kudos to Sharon, who, as always, went overboard in her hostess duties-- providing plenty of extra edibles, keeping the kids happy and occupied, and being her funny, sweet self. And thanks to everyone who brought delicious side dishes. I thought we ended up with the perfect mix.

I'm sorry that the gang got only a short glimpse of the raccoons and no sign of deer. I guess the noise just kept them all away. We had baby raccoons playing on the windowsill about a half hour after everyone left, though. Oh well.
