Bought in a batch of mixed african cichlids the iridescent blue face is throwing me.

Without a picture, we may not be much help. My guess would be a sunshine yellow peacock (Aulonocara baenschi).

Don't know if that's the correct species or not, but the genus could be right. It's one of the Mbunas. Maybe Travis will have a more accurate ID. Denny

Possibly a bumblebee, if so may be aggressive to peacocks.

Here's a comparison picture. Male on top, this pair of Bumblebees I had to sell or keep the male out of the community African tank. He killed the males from both my pairs of Acei and Dolphins. So I sold the Bumblebees. [url

I would contact Dave Schumacher in San Antonio. He's one of the biggest mbuna experts I know. His shop is
www.davesfish.com maybe you can just scroll through the pics and see if anything looks similar and then research that species. definitely not a crabro though. Kyle

I know this is a crazy old post but I instantly recognized the type-
Pseudotropheus flavus
