Spawns

Last week I had pulled 3 female Peacocks who were holding eggs into fry tanks. They all spit young, and with the Coptodon bythobates fry, that meant I set up 4 tanks for fry. This weekend, I set up 5 more tanks of Peacocks who are holding. Since pulling the buthobates fry, I'm hoping the parents will spawn again soon. It should be a busy spring with everything going on. Seems like I needed to be pulling holding female peacocks more often than I have been. I'm almost out of adult males right now, and it takes 6-9 months to get the fry up to adult size and coloration. I must have fallen asleep at the switch. I did pull 6 holding females out since Friday, and already 5 of them have released fry. Now I need to empty some more tanks to be grow out tanks for more spawns. Denny

Are you strictly an African keeper? Ever do much with Blackwater?

I keep a lot of fish over time, but always have had Peacock type fish around (at least for the past 10 years). Never tried blackwater though. Denny
