Opening the Pond

I finally couldn't wait any longer. I put my pump back in the pond and fired it up. It was very satisfying to hear the babbling brook again. With the temperature going down to close to freezing tonight, I may decide it was a mistake, but we'll see in the morning. I haven't fed the fish yet, but I did put in a fairly large quantity of duckweed into the pond. I had done that 6-8 weeks ago, too, and it all disappeared. The fish who were left in the pond over the winter are being very coy (pun) by not swimming close to the surface, but they do look good so far. Frogs are in good voice too. Denny
