Well picked up a 40g breeder at Petco yesterday using my Pals Reward card. Seems it's a manufacturer discount so you have to pay the manufacturer's portion of the sales tax. 
Still $51 for a new 40breeder is pretty cheap.

Upon further review, I have an antique 40g long that will fit on the top. Thus saving me 40 bucks
