Well I've had saltwater a few times, once back in the late 70's, once in the 80's, and a couple of years ago. These were always fish only tanks except for maybe some shrimp, crabs, and an anemone.
This will be a 20long nano tank with mostly corals and a couple shrimp and a fish or two.
I'll be posting everything here I buy, trade, or steal.
I'm starting with a new 20Long purchased at Petco for a buck a gallon. I got this a couple months ago.
I have black sand from a freshwater tank, just need to wash it.
Today I traded a bunch of 1"+ longfin plecos to WUW for protein skimmer.
I'm working on my girls to buy their daddy a LED light for Christmas, we'll see how that goes.
I have a 6 stage r/o unit coming tomorrow.
I have a hob filter I'm going to put Chemi-Pure Elite in to keep the phosphates in check, hopefully.
I still need to get, I figure, reef salts, a good hydrometer, a TDS meter, maybe a couple different test kits, and I'm guessing some live rock once the tank is set up.
If you have any of these items for sale, drop me a note.
Don't hesitate to post any suggestions you might have or pitfalls I need to be on the lookout for.
Stay tuned.
