I attended the Eastern Iowa auction on April 16th while visiting my son in Marion, Iowa. During the auction I won a bag of 5 young Neolamprologus brichardi and a bag of vallseneria. Unfortunately, I forgot to take them when I returned to Arkansas. My son who has no experience or interest in fish keeping kept them alive in a 5 gallon bucket until he came down to Arkansas in May. I then put them in one of those plastic containers with the val and an airstone in the garage. With our surgeries and the Rocky Mountain Spotted fever, I never got around to putting them in an aquarium, so today I decided to finsih up with them. They appeared to be well fed and active, and are now sharing a tank with some albino bushynose. How can fish die during shipment but live and thrive in less than ideal surrounding for this long? STRESS BABY. If someone put me in a bag, stuck me in an enclosed box for 2 to 3 days, bouncing around, I'd probably croak too!
