Attend an NWAAS Meeting!
Our April 2023 meeting is about native fishes, and other aquatic organisms, that are fit for the aquarium. We plan to follow it up, a weekend or so later, with a native fish collecting trip, where you can collect fishes to keep or release.

Our speaker, Kevin Mouser is a High School Science teacher and adjunct professor of Biology. He has been enthralled with fish from the time he was a young boy breaking the rules by taking the john-boat out on the pond by himself. He fell in love with aquariums not long after that when he saw a beautifully planted hex aquarium full of schooling zebra danios. He has been addicted to black and white fish ever since. He has collected and snorkeled with native fishes all over the Midwest and Southeast and recently got to expand his experiences to saltwater by snorkeling with the Bimini Shark Research Lab in the Bahamas. He currently keeps too many aquariums spread about his home and his classroom.

NWAAS also plans to host a native fish collecting trip on a weekend following the meeting, and we hope to get Kevin to lead it. He knows where all the cool stuff is!
