Tank Crashed?

I lost all my tequilas, and most of the fish they were sharing the tank with. I think I had a heater go crazy, not sure.

Sorry to hear about your loses. I hope recovery time is short & painless as possible.

Ouch. That really hurts. How many Tequila did you lose?

On another note, Mark's reaction was "You mean he had a fish fry--or maybe boil--and didn't invite us? I thought he was our friend?!

Well, here is what happened, the heater was just a guess.

I checked the tank and counted fish last week. I had 4 adult tequila and about 6-7 fry. Also in the tank were 6 amber tetras, 4 blue-spot sunfish, and 2 flying fox.

Now I have 1 blue-spot sunfish (dwarf species much smaller than my adult tequila and too small to eat the fry), 1 ember tetra and two flying fox.

When I noticed the lack of movement in the tank on Saturday I stuck my hand in to move things around and the water was particularly warm. I thought maybe the heater had stuck on for a bit. The remaining fish look healthy, the plants look healthy, and the temperature is running normal again. All in all, I have no idea what the cause was this time.

Tell Mark that I would have served them with hush puppies and okra, but I never found any bodies. I think the flying foxes made quick work of anything that hit the bottom and stopped moving.

Well this certainly leaves us without ANY start to our SMP. I didn't post it but I lost my tequila to what appeared to be velvet last week.
I had that group going since 2003.

Velvet is certainly an option with my fish as well. The temperature of the house has been fluctuating so much these past few weeks it wouldn't surprise me at all. That would explain the loss of the their tank mates as well.

OK we will send you some more.

You can restart your colonies;

Are their other fish you might be interested in doing this with too?

Maybe we can send some of those up too.

That is a very generous offer, thank you.

What other fish in need of a breeding program do you have available? I don't think we are ready to add a second 'official' program, but some members may want to take on that mantle on their own perogative.

Hmm... I never heard that the first SMP had started. Did I miss something?

It hadn't, but Kevin and I had them and both of us lost our groups.

Herpchat - I totally agree. I just thought I had missed something at one of the meetings I could not attend. I'm anxious to get our SMP program officially started and appreciate any help our members receive.
