At last night's club meeting, we planned a very impromptu and very last minute group outing to the Oklahoma Aquarium and Tulsa Zoo for **TOMORROW** (Monday, August 10th).

So far, we have commitments from:
  • Mike and Sharon
  • Michael and his son
  • Denny and Gail
If anyone else wants to go, please chime in so that we know you are coming, and I will send you a private message with my address if you want to meet up here.

Michael and his son are riding along with Sharon and me. We have room for one more. Denny and Gail are taking their own vehicle and have room for a couple more. If you'd like to ride along with them, chime in here for a reply this evening.

Here's the rough plan:
  • Leave home. My vehicle will leave my house in Rogers, AR, at 9:00am. That will put us at the Oklahoma Aquarium at around 11:15 am. Other vechicles will have to schedule their own departure times and routes to arrive at 11:15 am. Mapquest can provide that information for you. A GPS is also handy.
  • 11:15 am. Arrive at Oklahoma Aquarium.
  • We will decide whether to each lunch first, or tour the aquarium first. The aquarium has a deli. There may be restaurants nearby. Let's say 30 minutes for lunch, subject to change.
  • 11:45 am. Tour the aquarium. 1.5 hours is probably about right.
  • 1:15 pm. Leave for Tulsa Zoo.
  • 1:45 pm. Arrive at the Tulsa Zoo. Tour the zoo.
  • Departure time?
We'll be playing this all by ear, once we get there. Hope to see many of you!

Sadly, we have spent so much money on "Back To School" stuff that we just can't afford a day out (gas, food, admission for all of us) but hopefully we will be able to go next time. Have fun, and drive safely.

Bummer, Kenna, but we certainly understand. We'll just have to divide up your share of the fun amongst ourselves. :)

Several of us made it to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks, OK yesterday (Mike, Sharon, Michael, Jonathon, Gail and Denny). It was a really nice trip and the aquarium was very nice. We'll probably have pictures later to show the highlights. Unfortunately, I'm now a fugitive in Oklahoma. After the aquarium, we decided to go to the zoo. I was going to follow the rest of the group, but couldn't find the zoo on my GPS. We were right behind them as we came to a toll booth. After they paid, they shot out into traffic. We threw our money in, and not paying attention to the green light took off following the other car. Let me tell you that Sharon has a lead foot. Unfortunately, the light hadn't turned green yet, and there were bells and flashing lights going off as we left. We finally did catch up to them and found our way to the zoo. The zoo wasn't as nice as the aquarium, but realistically very few zoos probably look their best in the middle of the summer with temps approaching 100 degrees. Just as we started to leave, the clouds started building and the wind got pretty strong. It then rained all the way home. It really was a very nice excursion, and the company was great. Denny

Did you see the Rain forrest Exhibit? That is where most of their fish are.

They will be unavailing a new exhibit soon featuring fish.

We are going to do a behind the scenes tour of the aquatics probably in November. You all are invited. By the way when we go to the zoo its free.
