Who Wants Live Blackworms (for arrival 11/12/2010)?
It's that time again. We band together now and then to get a great price on live blackworms. Practically all fish love them and it's fun to offer them to our fishy friends. We need to order a total of five pounds to get a good price. If you would like to order some, details are below:
Pick-up
You would be responsible for picking up your worms at my house in Rogers on the day that they arrive—probably Friday (11/12/2010)—but I do have limited capacity to store some for delivery to the monthly meeting on 11/13/2010.
Price
The price would be the same as I actually end up paying, rounded up to the nearest dollar. It should work out to $13 for one pound, or $7 for a half pound. If you want to order, post a note here.
Payment
Once we confirm that we have enough participating to place an order, you can go to https://paypal.com and click on the "Send Money" link to pay. Follow the instructions to send money to my account (info@mikewickham.com). If the price ends up being less, I'll refund the difference when you pick up your worms. Or you can pay cash when you pick up the worms. (I'll take a check, but prefer cash so that I don't have to make a special trip to the bank.)
Guarantee
I make no guarantee beyond what the shipper offers to us (live arrival).
Care
Live blackworms are very easy to keep. I use a mini cat litter pan (10" x 14"). I place a pound of worms in it, in about a half-inch of water, and place the whole thing in the refrigerator. The worms should be rinsed every day at first, but as quantities dwindle, and they clean themselves out, they can be rinsed less often. No aeration or feeding is necessary. They last for weeks.
To rinse the worms, I merely stick the pan of worms under a faucet and run pure cold water to fill it up. Then I let the worms settle and pour off the dirty water. Repeat a time or two until the water is clean. Stick it back in the fridge.
Cutoff date
Cutoff date to order is Tuesday morning, 11/09/2010. You can post here if you want some.
Fish go nuts for these worms, so here's your chance to spoil your fish rotten and have some fun watching them worm wrestle! Live foods encourage breeding of your fishes!

I don't have anything I'd feed it to. Denny
If it was easy, anyone could do it!

Re: Who Wants Live Blackworms (for arrival 11/12/2010)?
I placed the blackworm order. Unfortunately, the price has gone up a little. (We paid $72 instead of $65.) So prices will be $1 higher per portion. I figured y'all would want me to go ahead and order. That means $14 per pound or $8 per half pound. See the options for making payment in the message at the beginning of this thread.
I show the following orders:
Corey: 2# = $28
Sundance: 1# = $14
Mike W.: 0.5# = $8
Evan: 0.5# = $8
That's 4 lbs. We have to order 5 lbs. minimum, so we took a chance and will try to sell the extra pound at this week's meeting to those who still want a chance to spoil their fish rotten or put them in breeding condition.

Live blackworms are here! They arrived in good shape. Evan, you can pick yours up at the meeting tomorrow ($8). I'll also have some extra to sell at the meeting-- but don't expect that to happen in the future. It's a one time thing to try to let some others sample them.

How's everyone's blackworms doing? Are they all gone? I'm ready for another couple pounds.

Re: Who Wants Live Blackworms (for arrival 11/12/2010)?
I could go for a half pound. It's too bad we didn't think of this sooner. I like to plan it so that some can be dropped off at the meeting. The deadline for that is tomorrow (Tuesday 01/04/2011 morning). If enough people tag on to make a five pound order, we could do it. Otherwise, it will have to happen later.
So if you'd like some live blackworms, pipe up now! Minimum order is half a pound. Details are at the top of this thread, though the date is old. Note that I haven't confirmed price, but it should be $14 pound, or $8 for half a pound, as noted in a message about halfway down.

Well if everybody is still up for some worms, I talked to Aaron at WUW and they're in for a pound when we order and Simon said he'd take half a pound.

Corey,
Do we want to place an order right away or wait to have them delivered right before the meeting? Let me know and I'll post a new thread specifically for this order. It looks like we could have enough orders to do either.

Okay, but it wasn't completely clear if you want to order next week or wait for the next meeting. I'm guessing the former.
