another leaking tank

Post by patrickhall »

yesterday my 75 gallon developed a leak and my original plan was just to reseal the inside of the aquarium with a new layer of silicon. after reading the last post it sound as if this is not effective? so is it just a waste of time to do this without taking the tank apart?

The thing to do would be to take the trim off the bottom, set it on a couple of 2 X 4's and determine exactly where the leak is. If it is just a drip in a single spot, you could seal it on just the inside. Now if really leaked bad, it'll need the bottom removed and re-attached. Let us know what happens.
