Auction Banner and Yard Signs Ordered

Post by mewickham »

I ordered the auction banner and yard signs today. The banner came to $43.33 with hanging tabs and shipping. Five double-sided yard signs with stands were $76.55. Grand total: $119.88. If they arrive in time for the next meeting, I'll bring 'em along.

What had we approved as far as what we could spend on the signs? I was looking, but couldn't see an amount. Did we vote on it in January? I didn't see the January minutes posted yet. BTW - we should probably transfer the 2010 minutes thread to the file cabinet. Denny

We never approved an exact amount, but we did approve an estimate of around $100 for banner and yard signs, plus shipping. That was pretty accurate, considering that shipping was around $17 and we came to a total of $119.

The auction banner arrived today. It looks great! I'll bring it to the meeting. We're going to need some ropes to hang it. Does anyone have some, or should we pick some up-- and, if so, how many feet? The banner is 6' long. There are four corners that need rope.

The amount, obviously, depends on where we plan to hang it. As far as what type of rope, I believe I have seen them hanged with nylon rope. Not positive, though.

As long as we're not in any particular hurry, 50 ft coils of poly rope is available on sale at Lowes, Home Depot, or Harbor Freight quite frequently. Usually not terribly expensive, either. There are also "hooks" that fir in the hole grommets that might be a good idea. I'm assuming it helps prevent damage from the grommets being pulled on. Denny
