Pearl Gouramis

Post by sumpnfishy »

Worlds Under Water had a pair of pearl gouramis that looked like they would be spawnable. I picked them up last Wednesday and I already have free swimming fry. Lots and lots of VERY tiny fry. Anybody raise gourami fry before? From what I'm reading you have to be really careful when it comes time for them to fill their swim bladder or you have mass losses.

Just make sure there is no scummy oil stuff on the top of the water and make sure the air above the tank is warm and humid, or atleast that's what i've heard.

Most of the gouramis spawn big and you lose lots of them as they progress but that is okay because the spawn so big! Congrats. I have 2 but not a pair so I am kind of looking for a couple more. Fun stuff. I usually start them on green water and liquid food then progress to BBS and powdered food. Jack
