Peacock on the Loose!
I had an interesting encounter this evening. I went on one of my usual walks on the trail between Olive St. and 24th St., and saw a male peacock wandering around in the woods near the stream. He was gorgeous and I have no idea what he was doing there.

I tried to get a picture, but the only camera I had on me was my cell phone camera, which I never use. By the time I figured it out, the bird was too deep in the weeds and all I could see was his head popping up once in a while.

maybe it was just a turkey and you had on some funky glasses
there are supposedly several running around a neighborhood somewhere in Oklahoma City that a guy had let loose in his garden but escaped. they are pretty resilient animals coping with a lot of weather conditions so that doesn't suprise me.. Kyle

Re: Peacock on the Loose!
It's pretty common for pet peacocks to fly around the neighborhood during the day and return to their roosts at night. Zoo peacocks often do that. A friend in Florida had neighbors who kept them and she used to complain that they always seemed to come over to her house when she was trying to nap. They'd sit in a tree nearby and call loudly, disturbing her.

Was that Wild Turkey you were walking with and you were maybe dressed like a peacock? Just trying to get this story straight!
