120g LEDs
Recently I puchased a dozen LEDs and driver from http://www.rapidled.com. I placed them in a Coralife 48"a aluminum fixture. They are the cool white solderless LEDs. They should have a range of 6500k to 7500k. Here's a pic of the fixture after the install and the tank with it's current lighting, a 48" twin tube flo fixure, 80watts total, and a single LED tube. I'm gonna try the new LED light and the twin tube to see what kind of plant growth I get. I do have Co2 on the tank.

Re: 120g LEDs
Right here I had to let the adhesive dry before I put it in place. It's noticably brighter, not sure if it's bright enough. Time will tell. I remember when I had 330w on my 180g with Co2, I had to thin the plants out once a month and you could see the oxygen bubbles coming off the plants.dennysfishroom wrote:So where is the after picture. looks nice. Did you use the 1 watt or 3 watt bulbs? Denny

Re: 120g LEDs
This is a cool project. I might have to give it a go now that I have a resource to tap into. Thanks.

Re: 120g LEDs
I'm noticing oxygen bubbles coming off the plants after the lights have been on for a few hours. I was concerned there might be excessive heat but the fixture is barely warm.

I'll have to take a look at your light, but I'm getting close to trying it myself. Denny

Re: 120g LEDs
Well I'm gonna order another set for a 48" light. Plants are doing great and I haven't even added fertilizer yet

Re: 120g LEDs
Think I can get by with the 12 lights on the 6' reflector? When are you going to order? Denny

Re: 120g LEDs
Depending on what you're trying to accomplish, would determine how many LEDs to buy, but 12 would work. This driver will run up to 14 LEDs

Re: 120g LEDs
Do you think 6 over each 40 breeder would be enough? Denny
