Bike Tires

Just curious Michael. When I was in a bike shop this morning, a saw a bike with huge tires on it. It looked like motorcycle tires. What was I seeing? Denny

There are a couple of companies that make bikes with huge tires. The ones that I have seen are designed to look like a motorcycle. It is just a style thing. The only reason a bike should have big tires is if it is a beach cruiser, because they are meant to ride over the sand and need to spread the weight out so you don't dig in. I know of no other reason for the big tires other than looks.

I swear I posted an answer to this the other day! You saw Fat Bikes. They kind if started as a snow and sand bike but have kind of taken on a life of their own and people ride them almost like an atv. They are built very sturdy: expensive!
