I recently learned about this fish and learned they can go in to a community tank. That they also don't get very large, and are fairly docile compared to other cichlids. I am curious if anyone have had any tips or experience keeping these cichlids?
I am still doing ongoing research but I was thinking of keeping 3 or 4 in a 30 gallon with maybe some corys and a group of cardnals.
Thanks,
Cathy

Re: Keyhole cichlid
Good choice! I've had these in the past and found them community fish, even when larger than their tank-mates. Always wanted to breed them but never got it accomplished. Pretty standard requirements, would just give them some type of frozen foods, brine shrimp or bloodworms, along with flakes.
