Chiller Aquarium?

Post by Josey »

Hey I stumbled across this and thought this could be adapted for aquarium use. Its a bit on the overkill side of complicated but a very interesting read/thought.

It should work for fresh water. (maybe)
for saltwater It would not because of all the copper tubing.
copper is very bad in saltwater. it kills all kinds of inverts.

anyone know effects of copper in freshwater long term?

Who said the copper had to go in the tank?

You could use a small aquarium full of water to place the copper radiator in and have a coil of hose (vinyl or whatever) in the same tank with it. Then just pump your aquarium water thru the vinyl hose. That would be a fairly efficient mass temp transfer.

GOOD CALL

that would work.
I might use a cooler and a liquid with a lower freezing point.
