I might go, too. With so many interested, perhaps we should look into renting one of those 15-or whatever-seat passenger vans and all travel together for a fun road trip? It would even have enough room for fish boxes on the way back. Maybe it could be made into an official club event and the club could rent the van?
I registered, joined ALA, got a room.
I reserved a room checking in Thurs, checking out Mon.
I have mild narcolepsy, so I have to be well rested to drive that far by myself.
Carpooling or a van would interest me also.

So the wife has a family event she must attend that weekend, so now I have an extra all events ticket. Let me know if anyone is interested. Not sure I'd have much luck scalping a fish convention ticket.

I'm not going, really disappointed. Hurt my back, no way I can do 6 hrs in a car one way, then folding chairs.
I was already registered and everything.
Important traveling info: I44 is closed from Lebanon to Rolla, almost 60 miles, and will not open til mid to late week. Good chance it will not be open if you are heading up Thursday.
Good to know. We won't be going till Friday, but when we go to Iowa, we go north through Jefferson City and cross I-70. If it's iffy, we'll probably take that route and go east on I-70 to get to the hotel. We were going to sort of come back that way anyway on Monday. Denny
Any tips on what to bring?
I'm taking some tubs and air pumps and tubing. Probably dechlor and a convertor for in the car.
Of course some cash and a camera.
Anything else>

Bags and rubber bands, net(s), containers to bag fish, extra water (if you're going to be bagging fish, you'll be giving some away with each transaction.
Had a good time at the conference.picked up some nice plants at the auctuon from some Wickham guy. Long ways to go for plants I can get across town. But the prixe was right.

NWAAS had pretty good representation at the ALA. Corey, Linda, Michael G., Mike H., Will, Ashley, Gail and Denny. I think each of us went home with something that we bought or got in the auction. It's going to be very exciting to see what we can breed from a\what we got, and bring in to our club auction for BAP. I've got some pictures on my website gallery, and there should be more at the meeting Saturday. Denny
I just wanted to give you a heads up that I had those plants labeled as Anubias-- because that's what I ordered from Arizona Aquatic Gardens, and those plants are what they sent. But I've remarked several times to Denny that they look more like crypts to me. They show a very slight waffling in the leaves, they send runners underground, and I've never noticed a stolon. But the idea was stuck in my head and I continued to blindly call them Anubias. So, yesterday, I got a note from Gary Lange telling me that they definitely are crypts. (I have no idea what kind.) Thought you might want to know.
I sold some of these at the recent NWAAS auction, too-- also mislabeled. So, if anyone bought some, they might want to take note that they are Cryptocoryne sp. not Anubias sp..
I will never order from azgardens.com again. They have a reputation for either misidentifying or substituting, and I even told them NOT to substitute on that order. So either they are evil or even stupider than me. I advise all to stay away from them.
