Fish Wish List

Post by etheonut »

This should be fun. Put fish on this list that are on your fish wish list. This could be fish that you 'wished' you had enough space to keep, 'wished' were available in the hobby, or simply 'wished' you had but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I will start it out. As most of you know, my taste in fish is pretty broad and unfortunately much more broad than my ability to keep fish. Of course that is why I keep you talented fish people around. I can just go to your fish rooms and see the cool fish.

So, here it is Kevin's wish list:

Gymnogeophagus sp. (yeah, just about all of them)
Pike cichlids (yeah, even the really big ones)
Mudskippers
Australian Benthic Shark "Woobegong" I think is how it is spelled
Snake heads
Frontosa (preferably the more blue and silver varieties)
Gold Datanoids
Jawfish (blue spotted or yellow head)
Engineer goby
Apistogrammas ... yeah, pretty much all of them, baenschi and borelli have always been favorites, but I try not to limit myself

Well, that is a nice eclectic list, anybody see any rhyme or reason to it?

The elusive, seldom available, and the ever-so-hard-to-keep, ALTUM ANGEL. I've had 8 in the past only to watch them die, one by one over a span of a month. It's just about season again and timing and opportunity have to right.

Still waiting on a group order from ApistoDave so I can get some cacatoides, (I'm sure Michael will correct my spelling).
Wishing for some of them.

No other fish-wishers out there?

Well I will bring some Betta channoides to the next meeting.

As far as my wish list, well as soon as I clear out enough room and do some modifications to my system they will be here.

Although there are tons of other fish species i would love to keep, here is my top 10:

Lamprologus callipterus
Thorichthys pasionis
Paratheraps zonatum
Herichthys labridens "media luna"
Gobiocichla wonderi
Boulengerochromis microlepis
Opistognathus rosenblatti
Hypancistrus zebra
Badis sp. (preferably ruber, blosyrus, ferrarisi)
And would like to try a mouthbrooding wild betta species to just play around with and breed, but don't know which particular species.

Unfortunately, what limits me most is lack of tank space.

I know a guy in KC who is breeding callipterus but last I knew he didn't have any of size yet.

There is never enough room for all the fish I want to play with.

But my passions are wild betta species and seahorses.
