Grindal worms

Post by dennysfishroom »

I'm going to be starting a new culture of Grindal worms right after our next meetinf July 14th. If you want a starter culture let me know before the meeting. The cultures do take a little time to get started because it takes time for the media to absorb the water. I've had the best results with the reptile substrate made from coconut husks. It come in compressed blocks, and you need to break off a small piece and let it soak before putting in the worms. How much media you use depends on the size of the container, but should be around 3/4-1 inch deep. They are easy to keep, but do take a little practise to harvest. My current culture is almost 1- 1/2 years old. I've just been feeding them dry baby cereal. They don't like high heat, but they aren't as sensitive as white worms. Email me at fishystuff42@yahoo.com if you have any questions. Denny
