I have found that some of the amazon sword, madagascar lace plant, and crypts are also very easy to keep under a variety of conditions.
Plants are regularly given away at the monthly meetings. If I know in advance you will be there I will bring some plant cuttings including anubias.

Re: beginer plants
I mentioned it elsewhere but will put it here too.
Kitty litter unscented 1 inch and 1.5 inches of gravel.
Lights at 2 watts a gallon and you can pretty much grow most plants.
Regular aquarium lights are way underpowered to grow plants.

Beginner plants:
Hygrophila sp.
Java ferns
Crypts
Mosses
Anubias
Aponogeton sp.
Bacopa sp.
Ludwigia sp.
You might try looking at this web site:
http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/
They have a nice Plant Finder feature with lots of plant profiles.
I occasionally bring plants to the meetings to give away.

So many easy plants;
Lets not forget the sagitaria and valisnaria;
My biotope uses those types of grasses and onion plants with amazon swords.
