Pre-vacation spawns

Post by Sundance »

Anyone want to bet that my Cories spawn just before we go to Albuquerque? The females are getting real fat and looking for places to put their eggs. I just know they'll spawn and the fry will starve to death while we're gone. How's that for being a fatalist? Denny

When are you going to Albuquerque? Maybe you could find a babysitter?

What did I tell you? My cories spawned again today. So far I've got around 75 eggs, but I'm hoping they're not done yet. We'll see. We're going in 2 weeks, so they would be free-swimming and starting to eat. They probably couldn't go the 5-7 days we'll be gone without eating. Decisions, decisions (but nice decisions). Denny

There's a meeting next week with some folks that I bet would take care of them while you are gone. Divide them up if nobody has enough room and get them back (minus the ones we "can't find" in the tanks) at the next meeting.

I could probably take of them for you, especially since I have angels and rams still feeding on bbs and microworms.Hope none jump into one of my tanks. Depends on the species? Which are they again????????????????

I guess we'll have to see if they hatch before I get too carried away. If you're feeding BBS Corey, that may be the way to go. It may be another day or 2 before I know for certain that the eggs have hatched. I wonder if this qualifies as a "teaser"? Denny

Well the eggs are starting to hatch tonight. Don't know how many yet, but I have my fingers crossed. Of course then I have to decide how I'm going to take care of them, but I guess it's one step at a time. Denny
