Barbs

Post by dennysfishroom »

I'm not supposed to be having problems telling the males and female tiger barbs apart. What's going on. I was all set to set up a tank, and I suddenly realized I couldn't tell them apart. They are huge, and some I'm sure are females, but I can't tell whether any are males for sure. Maybe I'll just take my chances on my best guess. I was figuring these would add a little variety to our next auction. I'm almost ready to try the rosy danios. I've been feeding them lots of daphnia, and I think they are almost ready. Denny

Not sure if mine have a pronounced red nose. I was looking for that, but maybe they just aren't totally in breeding mode yet. The ones I pulled out as males did have a red nose, but not sure if the ones I pulled out as females were different that way. They were more full. Only time will tell. Denny

Denny, as I recall, your tanks are bare with no backgrounds. You might want to add some dark backgrounds to the tanks to get the fish to color in more. It might make the barbs easier to sex.
