MelaFix with babies

This isn't a disease but....
I have a "baby tank" and one of them has taken anothers tail off. It looks fine, well as fine as a tail can look chewed. Can I use melafix in a tank with babies. I've heard its pretty safe for anything, but just wanted to ask.

I would use a bit lower dosage than recommended, but I think it would be just fine.
