Red Lizard Cat Spawn - Rineloricaria sp. L10a

You cannot see the small cluster of greenish eggs in the one inch diameter ceramic tube but I have my first ever spawn from these guys. I am excited.

Too bad it didn't happen when I was there to take my own shots. :) I'll post some of the ones I did take, when I get the chance. I'm firing up the new motherboard tomorrow, and hope to be fully back in operation soon. Cross your fingers for me.

The RAID is acting up on my wife's computer, now, too. It has the same motherboard and symptoms that mine developed. I'm wondering if a Windows update messed with my RAID drivers.

Hi! I have a group of these too. Would you please list your water parameters? What temp did they breed at? Had you done a cool water change prior to them spawining? I'm really interested because I would like for mine to breed too. I use straight RO water for their tank and keep it at about 82 degrees. My well water is extremely hard and alkaline, thats why I use the RO. Any tips you may have in getting them to spawn would really be appreciated. Thank you, Sue

My PH is generally around 7.0 temperature was around 79. Just regular water changes. They are in a planted tank and I feed plent of spirulina and had fed some black worms recently. I had been watching the females getting rounder and the males have finally gotten their kind of white cheeks. I do not alter my water and refill most tanks with tap water not treated. My tap ranges from 7.0 to 7.5 depending on what they are doing to the water that day.

I goofed up and killed most of the first spawn but the second one just hatched yesterday so I get to try again. Live and learn.
