24" T-5 lights

Post by sskruzr »

While waiting for the ladies to shop at the Tulsa shops today, I ran into Lowe's and it seems they carry a 2 bulb 24" T-5 fixture for $20. Nothing fancy but a cheap fixture to either house in a canopy or retro-fit into an aquarium light housing.

These t5 fixtures are cheap and very nice to use but in a hood they have a great chance to catch on fire due to not being inclosed and are not water proof

During the summer, fire is good. It helps keep the heating bill lower  .

I've got one of those I stuck inside an old Metaframe hood, works great. Only problem they don't take standard aquarium T-5 bulbs. They're a different length.

I just bought a 24" nova extreme freshwater from Petmountain for $59 to my front door. It's my 2nd one and I have been very happy with it. I know it's a little pricier than the lowes fixture but still very cheap considering it's a name brand, new t5ho.
