Five Arapaima Species, Not One

Practical Fishkeeping magazine reports that recent studies show that there are five Arapaima species, instead of the single Arapaima gigas under which they are now classified. Even more interesting is that A. gigas is not the species seen in the trade. So we've had it wrong for years. More details here:
