Thanks to Corey mentioning these I now have an obsession to get some of both color varieties. These are what they call the gold variety

I saw a martial arts movie, once, where a bunch of Japanese guys were shouting "dojo!" and then drinking cups of water filled with swimming, live dojo loaches.

You joke that you like them with Kechup, but back in the 1800's these were a food source where I'm from in Michigan. They're actually illegal there now. But that tells you how big they get! And That also tells you they prefer colder water.
