anyone ever use led to grow plants

I am currently running some LED lights on 5 gallon tanks.
I haven't been running them long enough to give feedback though.

been doing a lot of research on plantedtank.net
the LED's work fine in shallower tanks. The problem is the low lumens you get with most LED's does not allow them to penetrate into deeper waters. Buy the time you start getting towards the bigger LED's which can provide that much oomf, your not saving a whole lot cost wise, or that much power wise over T5 HO lighting. Mostly in bigger tanks looks like they are used for accent style lighting.

If you have to think about it... You probably just spent to much on something for your fish tank!!
