Going to HAAS Auction Saturday, February 25th?

Post by dennysfishroom »

Thought I'd start a thread for those who are going to the HAAS auction on Feb 25th. It may help with car pooling if there are more than one car full. I'm going (weather permitting). Denny

I would like to go to this auction if I can get a ride up there. My vehicle is in no condition for a road trip. If anyone has any extra seats and doesn't mind taking me along, then pm me.

I had an amazingly good time. I think I will take a few Tylenol and go to bed now.

I was trading one of the HAAS members for some Super Red Empress, but ended up not getting anything in the auction. I think I did do pretty well as far as selling things though. Long day, but a good time. Denny

Just FYI - they had over 120 bidders. What a difference that makes.

When we left at 4:00pm, they still had 300 items to auction off, and they needed to finish by 6pm. I would have loved to stay longer. I think I could have gotten some real bargains. Being 4 hours away would have been too much to stay any longer, though. Denny

We finished at 6:20 give or take, and the deals at the end were amazing.

I came home with:

Heterandria formosa
Danio choprae
Pseudomugil signifer
Breeding trio of peacock gudgeon
Alfaro cultratus
fluidized bed filter
small plastic bags

I don't have a total for the stuff I sold, but think it did very well. And I'm finally rid of all the plush fish toys we had bought for so that visiting nieces/nephews would have something to do when they visited-- only they never visited!

I didn't really want the Alfaro cultratus, but saw they were going very cheap and figured it would be worth it just to take a picture of them for use in the future. Unfortunately, when they brought the bag, they were baby fish! That's whey they were so cheap! Dang it. Now I've got to raise them up if I want a picture.

The fluidized bed filter will probably go into our auction. I also bought it just to take a picture.
