Filter Media
Does anyone know of some cheap coarse filter media? I'm thinking of a material similar to the coarse prefilter MarineLand uses on their SOS unit. It's very coarse, semi-rigid and hopefully would come in sheets or rolls that could be cut to size. Denny
Denny,
I am not sure about any specific but here are some things I have tried.
Check out the 'pond' filtration supplies. You can usually by large, coarse pads for a lower price.
I have also used air conditioning filter pads. These are "The Cheaper the Better". The more expensive ones generally have anti-fungal and other chemicals on them. I would suggest soaking the cheapest ones over night or longer before using them.
