Surprise spawn!

Post by sumpnfishy »

So today I was inspecting a tank that gets neglected a little bit. In it I saw a dead fish but then noticed something small and black on the dead fish. The small black thing was moving! What the heck! Well upon closer inspection of it and the rest of the tank I found numerous 3/4" Ancistrus fry. There are only 3 adults in the tank so it's amazing I had a pair let alone had them spawn in a neglected tank and had surviving fry with several 3-4 inch cichlids, but there they were.
As you might imagine, I was a bit excited!

AND a dead fish?! That's amazing. I'm worrying about my bare bottom tank being too dirty. Ha. Congrats!
