Goal Achieved

Post by Jackielee »

This past weekend I finally achieved my BAP goal of completing the Master Breeder level in our local HAAS in KC. Since I know a lot of you guys I wanted to share this with you all. Jack

This give a brief statement about what i had to do to get there. You have to complete the previous level to move on to the next. This will do it for me most likely but I am very happy to have made it this far in the BAP.

I have a powerpoint that shows more specifics if anyone wants to see it i can email it but do not know how to post a powerpoint presentation. This may be more than you want to know already but i wanted to share it. Thanks. Jack

Congrats Jack!!!!! If anyone has tried to breed fish, they should know this is no small feat. Hopefully some day I will have the time and patience to work on a project of this magnitude. I'd like to see the list of fish you spawned. I know it'll be lengthy, but it would give folks an idea of what is required.

Jack, that's a tremendous accomplishment! How many years did it take to do it?

It took me about 4 years. I worked hard on it for three of those years really moving the fish in and out of the fish room and then finally finished it off this year. I will see if I can figure out a way to post the powerpoint presentation or convert the slides of the the classes so I can post them. Thanks. Jack

Jack, you know it already, but I, along with many others, look up to you and your accomplishment. We're lucky to have ya over at HAAS.

Jack, you can append a PowerPoint to a forum message. (See the Upload Attachment tab below.) Both PPT and PPTX extensions are acceptable. But check your file size to be sure it's not something gigantic. Some PowerPoint files might potentially be large enough to overflow our data limit for the month and cause the club to incur fees.

Is this, by any chance, a presentation that is large enough to make a program? We'd love to have you as a speaker sometime.

I presented it to the HAAS meeting last Saturday. Probably took me 30 minutes or so to get through. I would be willing to present it if the club wanted to hear it. Jack

congrats! I know how hard it is. I am not sure where I stand in our BAP program (our database is locked up and we havn't been able to crack it). My biggest problem was I kept getting too many fish I didn't want to get rid of. After I had 60 or so tanks going, it was taking up too much of my time after work and weekends and I made the decision to scale back for awhile. I'm around 10 right now. Hopefully we will be in a position to build a house in the next few years and I can build a real fishroom/basement that is a lot less maintenance and I can continue back on my breeding quests. good luck on your next achievements. Our Breeder's Award Program is in limbo right now. The person who was running it disappeared. So we're looking for a volunteer to step up.

Even without a leader for our BAP program, you can still keep track of what you're breeding. The forms you would need to fill out are on this forum, and you can fill them out as you have breeding successes. Then you can bring the required fry to any of our meetings to be auctioned off in the mini-auctions. Just have one of the officers sign your completed breeding form saying the fry were bought at auction, and save it until we do get a chairman for this committee. Denny

I could probably do that, if no one wants to take it on. I will be at meetings, unless something major comes up, as I only live a few blocks from our meeting spot in Rogers. I'll try to get myself familiar with the system over the next few days, just let me know if I can help.

Don't know how dangerous it is, but I'm missing a bag of cement. Denny
