Yeah, I know...this tank needs to be cleaned! Water changes are pretty frequent, but the acrylic is icky! He lost most of his fins after the ice storm in January '07, but as you can see they regenerated quite nicely!

Ice Storm, January 2007
We moved all the fish to the 75 gallon and covered the entire tank with pillows and blankets.
We opened the doors and aimed the propane heater in for a few minutes at a time- delicate balance between freezing to death and dying of carbon monoxide poisoning.
2ltr bottles full of hot water float, sink as they cool down.
To keep us warm and entertained, we covered the entry way between the front room and the dining room with plastic (Yup, it is still up there) and listened to music on the phonograph.
