Firemouths

Post by dennysfishroom »

I finally put the Firemouths into the 135 Friday. It looks like I have 2 definitely males and 3 probably females. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to start pairing up. So far they seem to be moving around more like a school, so we'll have to wait and see. They are still fairly young, so they do have some growing to do. Denny

One way or the other, we're hoping so. Corey has some fry right now (Geophagus sp.)) that may be available soon (he's not certain they are growing right now). If that doesn't work out, hopefully the Firemouths will be ready for fall. Denny

it looks like 2 of the Firemouths are pairing off this morning. It seems like the biggest male and the smallest female. They are starting to be very aggressive with the others, and are defending a flower pot whenever someone gets too close. I should probably put in some plants to break up the sight lines. Denny
