Gymnogeophagus

Post by etheonut »

My Gymnogeophagus meridonalis are starting to show some colors. I am very excited. They are actually nicer looking than I expected. Hopefully this time next year I will have fry to distribute.

hmmm, good question, they aren't a year old, maybe 7-8 months best guess.

They are one of the many, many fish I have only seen in books. Congratulations on the color. That is always a really fun thing.

Have you had any luck with the Gymnogeophagus meridonalis fry?

Kevin,
Since the Gymnos require 3 months a year in the 50-55 degree temp range how do you obtain that temp range?

I haven't yet. I hope to work on them when I have time after finishing my college program that takes up most of time. If were going to do it, I would transfer them to my outdoor pond sometime in the near future.
