Plexiglas solvent

Post by dennysfishroom »

Anybody know if any of the local hardware type stores carry the solvent/glue for plexiglas? I haven't looked at all, but I figured if someone knew, i might save some gas driving from store to store. Denny

Denny, Denny, Denny.

What are you trying to do? How thick is the plex and how much water does it need to hold?

For bonding and not holding much water, say an over-flow box, I believe Lowe's carrys it next to their glass cutting tools.

If it's for a tank, say 30 or larger, I had to order I believe it's WELD40 from a seller online. It was like $40 for a quart. If this is what you need, I may have some lying around. Just gotta find it.

Let me know.

Actually, what I'm going to do is re-enforce the new lids I made for the tanks. The plexiglas would have been better if it was thicker, but it's not. I've got some plexiglas corner molding that I could attach to the tops to stiffen them up. Hopefully, that would solve that problem. Let me know if you find any solvent around. Denny
