I would love to thank Kevin for the wonderful killies especially since I love native killies.
The first one is the mummichug;

The other one we are having a few issues with;
Could be similus
http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/speciesSummary.php?ID=3205&genusname=Fundulus&speciesname=similis
or could be majalis
http://www.fishbase.org/summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=3196
Either way its going to be fun.

Re: Kevin's Fishing Expedition
The last time we caught them (Michael and I) the gentleman with us referred to them as 'striped killies'. In honesty though, none of the adults we were catching looked like the picture in the link. They looked like the longnose killies. In a few months you will know for sure I imagine.

Ahh, with more research though we have this:
http://www.fisheries.vims.edu/trawlseine/seinegraphs/stkillifish.htm
Common name and my memory of what the adults look like coincide to be this fish. Again though, we will see when they mature what they end up looking like.

Re: Kevin's Fishing Expedition
Yeah, that is what I did an image search for, since the image on fishbase didn't look anything like I remember the adults looking like. The common name though was correct. So the common name and the picture now match. I am 87.3% sure that is what they are, but until we see them as adults it won't be 100%.

True but I am betting on it and I do tend to be correct.
I will let you know when we conduct our native collecting trip incase some of you all would like to go.

Re: Kevin's Fishing Expedition
Well it looks like I ended up with 3 pairs. After they hit a tank and got swimming around they perked up after their first meal. They don't know what pellets are yet but sure make short work of blood worms and brine shrimp.
The striped killies did not fair so well, half of them died.
